Get Through Your Breakup
Create a New Life that You Love
Emerging whole after even the most difficult divorce is within your reach. Having a support group can be the catalyst for emerging from divorce happy and whole.
It feels like we are alone when we are going through a divorce. The truth is that divorce not only impacts our immediate family relationships, it also impacts relationships with family and friends. Loneliness compounds the pain of divorce. The onslaught of issues contributes to a feeling that our goals are further and further away. It is normal to feel helpless at times. This phenomena is the impetus for creating the Women in Transition Divorce Support Group. We meet Wednesdays from 4 PM to 5:30 PM. Group members make the journey through divorce together.
Gender differences are rooted in society. These differences together with the demands of womanhood and mother-hood make the experience of divorce different for women than it is for men. That’s why the Women in Transition Support group is so special. We challenge ourselves to break through gender barriers that keep us from making our new life a success while validating the issues of divorce that are unique to women. We explore relationship patterns in order to learn more about ourselves and to grow in ways we may have never thought could emerge from an event as horrific as divorce.
Dr. Peary is a psychologist, mediator, and former family lawyer, who has also gone through divorce herself. Dr. Peary provides practical, compassionate, constructive, and wise advice.
